Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 April 2026

We collect the minimum data needed to run your pregnancy tracker. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. With your consent, we use analytics and advertising tools to measure and improve our marketing. We may be required to disclose limited data if required by law or in response to a valid legal request (e.g., court order or subpoena). Your pregnancy data stays private.

Who we are

Nuhah is operated by Nuhah LTD, registered in England and Wales. You can contact us at privacy@nuhah.app.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

What data we collect

Account data: Your email address (personal data used for magic link authentication and account recovery), and optionally your first name, last name, and date of birth (to personalise your experience).

Pregnancy data: Due date or last menstrual period date, baby's name (optional), gestational age calculations. This data is stored in your private account and never shared unless you choose to use the partner sharing feature.

Photos and journal entries: Any bump or pregnancy photos you upload and any journal entries you write are personal data stored securely in encrypted cloud storage (Supabase/AWS). Photos are private by default. Journal entries are stored in your private account and never read, analysed, or used for any purpose other than displaying them back to you. If you enable partner sharing, shared photos are visible via your private share link, but journal entries are never shared.

Usage and analytics data: We use first-party analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. With your consent, we also use third-party tools such as Meta (Facebook) Pixel for measuring advertising effectiveness and building audiences for our own marketing campaigns. These tools may collect pseudonymous identifiers and browsing data. You can accept or decline non-essential tracking via the cookie banner shown on your first visit.

Payment data: If you subscribe to Premium, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your full card number. We retain payment-related data only as long as required by financial-regulatory or tax rules.

What we do NOT collect

  • Your location for tracking purposes
  • Your contacts or phone data
  • Sensitive personal data (e.g., race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or detailed medical diagnoses) beyond basic pregnancy dates and milestones
  • Biometric data
  • Data from other apps on your device

We do not require you to provide your real name, but if you choose to enter one in optional fields, we will treat it as personal data.

How we use your data

  • To run your pregnancy tracker (milestones, timeline, journal, photos)
  • To send you magic link login emails
  • To generate your partner share link (if you choose to enable it)
  • To process Premium subscription payments (via Stripe)
  • To send you weekly pregnancy update emails (if you opt in - you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • To understand how the app is used via analytics (GA4) so we can improve the experience
  • With your consent, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and build audiences for our own marketing (Meta Pixel)

Who can see your data

You: Full access to all your data at all times.

Your partner (if you enable sharing): Can see milestones, photos (if you enable photo sharing), and partner-specific content via a private link. They cannot see your journal entries. This is a user-controlled sharing feature. You can revoke access at any time. We are not responsible for how your partner handles or shares data once it is visible to them via the link (e.g., by copying or screenshotting).

Our infrastructure providers: Supabase (database and authentication, hosted in EU), Netlify (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional emails). These providers act as data processors and are contractually required to protect your data and comply with applicable data protection laws.

Analytics and advertising partners (with your consent): Google (GA4) and Meta (Facebook Pixel) receive pseudonymous usage data when you have consented via the cookie banner. This data is used to measure how visitors find and use Nuhah, and to measure and optimise our own marketing campaigns.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not display third-party advertising within Nuhah.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Supabase's EU-based infrastructure with encryption at rest (AES-256), encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), role-based and row-level access controls (your data is only accessible to your authenticated session), and regular automated backups.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to access your data (we can provide a full export), correct any inaccurate data, delete your account and all associated data, export your data in a portable format, withdraw consent for optional processing (like weekly emails or analytics cookies), and object to any processing you disagree with.

We may ask you to verify your identity before processing certain data-subject requests, and in some cases rights may be limited by law (e.g., where we must retain data for legal or financial compliance).

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@nuhah.app. We will respond within 30 days.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. This permanently removes your profile, all pregnancy data, all uploaded photos, all journal entries, and your partner share link. Deletion is irreversible. We will delete your data as soon as reasonably possible, in line with our data retention schedule and legal obligations. Stripe retains minimal transaction records as required by financial regulations, and we may retain limited information where required for tax or fraud prevention purposes.

Children's privacy

Nuhah is designed for adults (expectant parents). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided data to us, please contact us at privacy@nuhah.app and we will delete it immediately.

Cookies and tracking

Essential cookies: Session cookies for authentication (managed by Supabase). These are strictly necessary for the service to function and are exempt from consent requirements under UK law.

Analytics cookies (consent required): Google Analytics 4 (GA4) collects pseudonymous usage data to help us understand how visitors use Nuhah. This includes page views, session duration, and general interaction patterns.

Advertising cookies (consent required): Meta (Facebook) Pixel collects pseudonymous browsing data to help us measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, build audiences for our own marketing, and optimise our ad spend. When enabled, Meta may use this data in accordance with its own data policy.

You can accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies via the cookie banner on your first visit. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies. If you decline, only essential authentication cookies will be used.

We will review and update our cookie practices if we introduce additional tracking tools in future.

Affiliate programme tracking

If you join our Ambassador programme, or if you arrive at Nuhah via another member's affiliate link, we process some additional data:

Referral cookie: When a visitor lands on Nuhah with a valid ?ref= parameter, we set a cookie named nuhah_ref with a 60-day maximum lifetime. It stores only the affiliate's public slug — no personal data about the visitor. Its sole purpose is to attribute a subsequent Nuhah Premium subscription to the correct affiliate.

Click logs: When a visitor arrives with a valid affiliate referral, we log the click with: a hashed IP address (we never store raw IPs), the user agent string, the referring URL, the landing page, and a timestamp. The hashed IP lets us detect obvious fraud without being able to re-identify the visitor.

Conversion records: If the visitor subsequently subscribes to Nuhah Premium, we store a conversion record linking the Stripe checkout session, the customer email, the plan type, the amount, and the attributed affiliate. This is used to calculate the affiliate's commission.

Lawful basis: legitimate interest (running our affiliate programme and paying our ambassadors accurately). You can prevent attribution by declining the nuhah_ref cookie at the cookie banner, clearing your browser cookies, or simply not clicking an affiliate link.

Retention: click logs are kept for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted. Conversion and commission records are retained for 6 years after the tax year in which they arose, in line with UK HMRC accounting requirements.

Outbound affiliate links

Some of our editorial pages — for example our pregnancy and baby product guides at nuhah.app/guide — contain links to third-party retailers. When a link earns Nuhah a commission, we label it clearly with an (ad) badge at the link itself, and a disclosure banner appears at the top of the page in line with UK CMA (September 2024) and ASA guidance.

What happens when you click an affiliate link: you leave Nuhah and visit the retailer's site. The retailer (or the affiliate network they use, such as Awin, Rakuten, or CJ Affiliate) typically sets its own cookies in your browser to track that the click came from Nuhah. We do not control those cookies. If you complete a purchase, the retailer pays Nuhah a small commission, but we never see your full payment details — only an aggregate, anonymised conversion record from the affiliate network.

Editorial independence: products are ranked by genuine usefulness, never by commission rate. Affiliate revenue does not influence what we recommend.

Lawful basis: the inclusion of affiliate links is based on legitimate interest (sustaining free editorial content). The cookies set by the destination retailer are governed by that retailer's own privacy policy and consent flow, not ours. You can avoid this by simply not clicking affiliate links, or by clearing third-party cookies in your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email and update this page. We will summarise significant changes in any notice email. Minor clarifications will not trigger notifications but the "last updated" date will change.
