When to count kicks

From around week 28, try counting kicks at the same time each day - ideally when your baby is usually active (often after meals or in the evening). Lie on your side in a quiet place and count any movement: kicks, rolls, swishes, and jabs all count.

Most babies reach 10 movements within 2 hours. If you notice a significant change in your baby's normal pattern of movement, contact your midwife or maternity unit. Trust your instincts - you know your baby best.
